This art of building requires the same general practises as our “full scribe” method except a portion of the log walls are replaced with log posts.
These log packages are completely enchanting to view. These are our “hybrid” homes. They have the traditional log home feeling as well as the elegance of timber frames. This home generally gives you the best value for your money.
Because of the “free space” available between posts, it allows for easier renovation in the future. Between the posts is where the traditional 2x6-stick framing will occur.
Log post and beam can also be used as framing members only, this creates a simple but creative result.
Although dove tails are often used with this system, the infamous “Mortise and Tenon” are most often used (a standard for post and beam).
